The next time you have to form-cut a convex radius on a turned part, no need to grind a tool. You can do a much better job with a corner rounding endmill. It is pretty simple, take a look at the diagrahm below. Make sure everything is setup properly (ie: sharp tool, rigid setup, lots of cutting oil, cutting edge must be level and on center). For a larger radius, the tool may have to be stepped in from the Z axis and then the X axis with a final cut at low rpm and get out quick. This diagrahm shows cutting a radius on an outside diameter. For inside diameters, rotate the tool 90° counter clockwise.
